CATHY ALBERICH ROCK'S AT THE MORELIA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL!

With an exiting audience and a packed theater the program 2 of The 5th Annual Morelia International Film Festival took Mexican audiences to the dark side, with Cathy Alberich's critically acclaimed short film Algesia, that has been praised by the Festival Newspaper as "a surreal intense film that keeps you at the edge of your seat".
Alberich presented Algesia at two of the three screenings at the Cinepolis Centro event, where President Felipe Calderon did the main opening as well as Gael Garcia Bernal, Cecilia Suarez, Carlos Reygadas and Stephen Frears, along with Alberich Baja's state was represented by Julieta Venegas and Aaron Soto.

On the evening of Saturday October 6, Cathy Alberich was selected to appear at the Regional Cinema Panel, one of six panels that focused on the new wave of mexican cinema, other panels includes the three masters of mexican cinema, Alfonso Cuaron, Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu and Carlos Reygadas.

Alberich represented the province where she took the mic to talk about the amazing job of Baja California's artists, the panel was moderated by IMCINE director Marina Stavenhagen and participating panelists also included Juan Manuel Gonzalez, Monterrey Film Festival director, Renewmedia director Lucila Moctezuma, and filmmaker Aaron Soto.
The festival success of Cathy Alberich's work has translated in to the mainstream media, with two appearances this week at Mexico's Chanel 22 with a special screening of her Color Drip short film and the upcoming television premiere of Algesia at Abrelatas show, transmitted on chanel 11.
